  • How do you decide what my approved limit is during the online application?

By linking your main business current account using a secure provider, we can see your transaction history. This lets us make a lending decision based on your real business performance, not just a credit score.

  • Why do I need to link my business current account during the online application?

We want to make sure you get the right approved limit for your business, so we use more than just a credit score to make our lending decision. Linking your main business current account means we can see your transactions, which helps us to understand your business and its real performance. Your details are always encrypted and stored securely, and we'll never be able to make any transactions from your account- just view them. We'll periodically review your approved limit using the link to your main business current account.

  • Can I link additional business accounts after I've applied?

Yes. You can link additional business current accounts, as well as your business PayPal, eBay, Twitter and Facebook accounts after you’ve applied. This will help us better understand your business and allows us to review your approved limit.

  • Can I apply for more than one approved limit for my business?

You can only apply for one approved limit per business.

  • I have more than one business, can I apply for an approved limit for each business?

Yes, you can apply for one approved limit per business. During the online application, you'll need to link a different main business current account for each business you apply on behalf of.

  • Will I need to sign a personal guarantee?

The applicant will need to sign a personal guarantee before taking out a loan with us. They must be a director, shareholder or member of the business.

Before you give consent to this, you should seek independent legal advice. Your solicitor should explain your obligations under this guarantee and you should ask them to explain anything you don’t understand. By signing the personal guarantee, the applicant promises that the business will fulfil its obligations to repay any loans taken out, and that if the business cannot fulfil its obligations, the applicant will fulfil these obligations personally.

  • Can I save and continue my application later?

Yes, if you'd like to continue your application later you can save it. When you come back we'll ask you to login using the email address and password you provided on the first page of the application.

  • How can I take out a loan?

Once you've qualified for an approved limit, you can take out a loan using your dedicated Working Capital Loans online account.

  • How long will it take to receive funds into my main business current account?

Once you take out a loan, it can take anywhere from a few minutes up to 24 hours to receive your funds in your main business current account.

  • How will you calculate my monthly repayments?

Each month, for six months, you'll pay back a sixth of the total loan amount (the ‘principal'), plus a monthly interest charge, which is calculated as a percentage of the total loan amount.
The total interest charge for the six months will depend on the credit assessment of your financial circumstances.
If you have multiple loans with us, we'll combine your repayments into a single monthly payment to keep things simple.

  • Can you review my approved limit?

Yes, we'll do ongoing reviews of your main business current account which might mean we increase or decrease your approved limit from time to time. We'll always make sure we tell you about this; you'll be notified on your Working Capital Loans online account. We reserve the right to review and remove your approved limit.

You can also link additional business current accounts, as well as your business PayPal, eBay, Twitter and Facebook accounts. This helps us to better understand your business and allows us to review your approved limit.

  • How often can I take out a loan?

You can take out a loan as often as once a day.

  • How will I make repayments?

You'll repay by Direct Debit. If you have multiple loans with us, we'll combine your repayments into a single monthly payment to keep things simple.

Your monthly payment due date is set by the first loan that you take out with us and will be the same date each month going forward. If you take out a subsequent loan before your next payment due date, the payment for this loan will be included in the following month's due date.

Payments will be debited from your linked business current account shortly after the payment due date.

If you make an early repayment which is more than or equal to your scheduled payment, we won’t take your usual Direct Debit that month. You must make the early repayment before your Direct Debit is due. If the amount you repay is less than your scheduled payment for that month, we’ll take a Direct Debit for the remaining amount.

  • Can I make an early repayment or overpayment?

    ■ Yes, you can make additional repayments or full repayments at any time, using your Working Capital Loans online account. There aren't any fees for doing this, which means that you could repay early and save.
    ■ If you repay your loan in full, you'll need to pay the interest charge due in the month of repayment and any previous months.

If you make an early repayment before we process your direct debit (this usually starts a couple of days before your due date) we won't take your usual direct debit that month. This is provided the amount you repay is more than or the same as your monthly repayment amount. If you pay less than your monthly repayment amount, we’ll take a direct debit for the amount remaining for that month.

  • Is linking my business accounts secure?

Yes, when you link your business current accounts or business eBay, PayPal, Facebook and Twitter accounts, we use a secure provider. Once the accounts are linked, we will be able to see your history, but we’ll never be able to make any transactions. Your details are always encrypted and stored securely.
